I started my computer science degree in 2018 where there was an immense demand for software developers and engineers. There weren’t enough developers at the time to fill all of the roles that were available. After taking a break during the pandemic and then returning to school in 2024, I realized how much the playing field has changed. The amount of competition and saturation within the software development, and various other technology related fields, has made it very difficult to find work as a low-moderate experience leveled individual.
